Seasonal Allergies

Before knowing what seasonal allergies are let us know first what is an allergy.

Allergy can be defined as an abnormal reaction triggered by our body’s immune system to act against the germs and the result occurred is known as allergy. Normally allergies are of many types and among them the allergies can be caused due to improper food intake, dust, chemical reactions of medicine, insect and animal bites, trees etc. There are different allergies and they can be classified as seasonal or perennial allergies etc.

Seasonal allergies stand for abnormal reaction triggering the immune system of our body and they are the ones triggering the body in a particular period of time. They are also termed as hay fever and are the symptoms that occur when the spores of the plants, trees release pollen grains in order to fertilize the other plants growing along them.

Various seasonal allergies occur during spring, late fall, summer season. These allergies trigger people having a weak immune system. During the pollination of plants the pollen grains entering the person’s blood stream trigger a chemical reaction towards the immune system of the body and the reaction caused is termed as seasonal allergy.

The immunity of the individual’s body describes what type of seasonal allergies he or she might be suffering from. The person can suffer from one type of allergy at time. Generally these allergies start attacking children, when they are near the age of 10 and adults.

The best way to cope with this problem is early diagnosis. People should also wear a nose mask and if possible use air conditioners against seasonal allergies, as they prevent the entry of pollens from free air into home and save against allergies. The other possible way is to have healthy food habits in order to increase body’s immunity and prevent the threat of allergies.
